24-Minute Bikewitness Action News
Oh, how I wish I had more time.
I know what you're thinking: "If you'd just drive your dumb car, you'd cut that 24-minute commute in half and add precious minutes to your day, you helmethead."
Right. Drive my car. Don't be so silly.
I have a better idea: slow cooking for the fast-paced life.
This is not a new idea, of course. It's not even new to me.
Back in college, both working 50 hours a week and taking full loads of classes, my future wife and I broke out a hand-me-down slow cooker (known as a "crock pot" to those who do not submit to copy editor anal retentiveness). (Apologies for using the word "anal" in a food story.)
Erin and I theorized we could put anything in a crock pot and have it turn out delicious.
Boy, were we silly.
Our first attempt at crock-pot cooking saved us neither time nor money. (Fourteen years later, if you know where to look, you probably can find evidence of our dumped-out chicken crapiatore in the parking lot of Union Square Apartments in Mount Pleasant, Mich.)
Today, I want to get it right. I have a family to feed, after all.
So, undeterred by past failure, and under pressure from life and wife, this born-again family cook dusted off our newer, friendlier crock pot.
And I sent this silly two-part tweet to my legions of followers on Twitter.

Silly? Sure. But also effective. I received a handful of recitweets to test this fall. Including:
@RobertaFKing's tacos

@RobertaFKing's pea soup

@KenTrupke's chili

@RobertaFKing's chili

@lindseywoho's pork roast

And allow me to contribute a tasty recipe I've already tried.
Betty Crocker's garlic pork roast
With the leftovers from that, you can make this."For people who don't need details, instructions and are creative, it could work," tweets Roberta F. King, a West Michigan public relations "maven."
Details? Who needs details?
I don't have time for such silly stuff.
Have a recipe for a one-pot wonder? Can you summarize it in 140 characters or less? If so, send it to Todd via Twitter. You can follow Todd at twitter.com/toddfettig.
